The Canadian province of Alberta has nursing recruitment
opportunities in the following areas: Medical-surgical,
ICU, Emergency, Maternity, Neo-natal, Operating Room,
Pediatrics, Mental Health, Geriatrics and Community
Nursing. A Registered Nurse provides direct patient
care and support to patients and families.
Indo-Can offers active support to the Internationally
Educated Nurses (IENs) to explore available positions
as an RN/LPN in Alberta. Successful nurses will
have opportunities to serve the community and apply
their professional skills and knowledge. As Canada
is experiencing a critical shortage of skilled nurses,
Indo-Can will provide support and assistance to the
Internationally Educated Nurse to explore challenging
and rewarding nursing opportunities in the western province
of Alberta.
It is a mandatory requirement that all IENs need to
obtain eligibility to write the Canadian Registered
Nurse Exam and obtain temporary class registration to
enter and work in Alberta on work permit visas under
the provincial nominee program. Nursing applicants
must meet all the requirements of the respective licensing
board (CARNA) in order to obtain eligibility to write
the CRNE and to practice as a licensed RN.
RN status and licensure
within Alberta is the legislated mandate of the College
& Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA).
To obtain eligibility, the applicant must provide all
required documentation requested by CARNA to meet the
provincial standards and assessment process. It is important
to note that the decision and/or time frames for same
depends upon the accuracy of the applicant's application,
documentation and qualifications and cannot be guaranteed.
The following are the mandatory
requirements for IENs to register for this program.
- Alberta registration or eligibility for registration
required.
- Bachelor of Nursing preferred/ Diploma holders also
eligible.
- Current BCLS (CPR) certification.
- Recent nursing experience required.
- Recent acute care experience preferred but not necessary.
- Demonstrated ability to work in an Inter-disciplinary
team environment.
- Demonstrated English verbal and written communication
skills required.
- Computer skills an asset.
- Demonstrated interpersonal, organizational and assessment
skills required.
Applicants must produce an
IELTS Score 6.5 overall band & speaking should be

of the assessment by the College & Association of
Registered Nurses of Alberta.
Positions are temporary until requirements of the Human Resources Development Canada and Canadian Immigration and Regulatory Nursing Board are met and confirmation has been received.
